Welcome to Griz Catholic!
Vision Statement:
The mission of Griz Catholic is to make saints for the Kingdom of God. We are the spiritual home for UM students, working here at Christ the King Parish. We seek to guide all students at the University of Montana to live their faith fruitfully in the post-modern world. Griz Catholic also invites the Catholic UM faculty and staff to engage with students in liturgical life, activities, and events.

Brett Rotz
campus minister
I am from Rathdrum, Idaho. I graduated from Carroll in 2020 and have been in seminary for the last five years – three in Denver at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary and two in Rome at the North American College. This year I am excited to be a part of this parish community as I complete my Pastoral Year as the head of Griz Catholic Campus Ministry. It has already been very good to meet so many of you, and I look forward to our time together praying at mass, eating meals, or adventuring outdoors! Please keep me in your prayers and know of mine for you all as well.

Welcome to our FOCUS Missionaries!
The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) is a Catholic collegiate outreach whose mission is to share the hope and joy of the gospel with college and university students, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship and friendships in which they lead others to do the same. Be sure to say hi if you see them around!
Colton Haight
Hi, my name is Colton Haight! I was born and raised in Colorado, and grew up doing all things outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, and camping. I am a convert to the Catholic Church, and I love the mission of evangelization on campus! I spent my first 2 years as a missionary at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and this will be my first year at the University of Montana. I’d love to share my story with you and get to know you, so please reach out!

Katie Hiller
Hello! My name is Katie and I am a second year missionary at the Univeristy of Montana. I was raised in Pocatello ID where, surrounded by an amazing family and wonderful friends, Jesus became the central part of my life. I attended Corban University in Salem OR for my undergrad. After graduation, I worked in Denver CO at an incredible Montessori School and, man, did I learn more from those kiddos than I ever taught them! After a year, I felt the Lord invite me into full-time missionary work and I joined FOCUS. In God’s incredible providence, I was placed in Missoula and now have the great gift of serving the students at UM. In my free time you can find me climbing mountains, playing Spikeball, and jamming to some Bongo Flava.
